ABOUT ME

My journey with horses began at the age of 10, taught mostly by the horse and when I could afford lessons, some super and some not so super coaches or instructors.

As one of those horseless riders that would go anywhere to get on anything, I backed my first horse at only 13. I now have 48 years of learning what works and what doesn't. However, I'm always learning and believe that my journey into understanding the horse is a lifelong journey.

Starting in the UK, my passion for horses has taken me around the world and I have had the pleasure to work with many inspirational horses and riders.

Whilst living in Australia I accepted an opportunity to extend my coaching qualifications to an Internationally recognised level. My work with Wendy Lyons at Wattle Creek Equitation Centre in Brisbane allowed me to gain experience in both teaching riders from beginners through to elementary level dressage.

I have experienced the spectrum of private homes and riding centres and the realities of the well off and well stocked, through to the extremes of training in the Indonesian jungle where there was an abundance of love and a lack of funds. So, my judgement is not on the latest trends but safety and the care of the horse.

My coaching journey has been enhanced by my work with some well respected, International trainers. I am keen to pass on this knowledge and experience to my clients.

I am a BHS accredited coach and have an International Equine passport as a level 2 Dressage coach.

I work freelance and enjoy coaching riders at all levels with the satisfaction of watching them progress. I am passionate at improving the communication, to enhance the connection to build confidence in both horse and rider. My coaching speciality lies with dressage and I am both qualified and experienced to progress you through from the starter to elementary level. The joy of coaching for me is to enable my client to develop their key to unlock the ability of both horse and rider and discover what they are capable of together.
